Call for Social Media and Membership Strategy Intern – ATGENDER

ATGENDER invites applications for an internship opportunity for a BA or MA student to contribute to the development of a new social media strategy aimed at broadening our membership base and strengthening our public presence.

ATGENDER is currently in a transitional phase, rethinking its priorities and ambitions in relation to media, digital communication, and outreach, as well as the development of a new website. This internship offers an opportunity to play an active role in shaping the organisation’s engagement with current and prospective members and online followers, contributing to ATGENDER’s social media strategy and website redevelopment. 

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Duration: June-September 2026
  • Workload: Approx. 150-200 hours (flexible distribution)
  • Location: Remote (with occasional online meetings)

YOUR TASKS

  • Assist in identifying target audiences and strategies to broaden membership reach.
  • Contribute to the development of a social media strategy for ATGENDER.
  • Support coordination between social media strategy and the development of a new website
  • Contribute to research mapping ATGENDER’s audience and reflecting on how to design a feminist media profile for an organisation like ATGENDER.
  • Develop a toolbox (a couple of templates and a short workshop) for ATGENDER on drafting and scheduling posts where relevant.

YOUR PROFILE

  • BA or MA student or graduate in Gender Studies or a related field (e.g. media studies, public relations, cultural studies, social sciences, humanities).
  • Strong interest in digital communication, social media, and online engagement
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically about communication
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
  • Interest in feminist, queer, and intersectional approaches to media and outreach
  • Previous experience in communication, activism, or digital content creation is a plus
