Call for Jury Members for ATGENDER Postgraduate Prize 2026
CALL FOR JURY MEMBERS
(Mid-career, senior and established scholars, advanced early-career researchers in gender research)
ATGENDER runs the Postgraduate Prize in gender research to recognise outstanding Master’s dissertations engaging with issues central to gender, feminist, queer, and trans* studies. To support the evaluation process, we invite ATGENDER members – mid-career, senior and established scholars, as well as advanced early-career researchers with relevant expertise – to serve as reviewers for the prize jury.
Submissions will first undergo an editorial screening by the ATGENDER Board to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. Selected dissertations will then proceed to a blind peer-review process conducted by members of the jury. The review process is expected to take approximately 4 to 6 months, depending on the number of submissions and the availability of the members of the jury.
You can find more information about the Postgraduate Prize here:

As ATGENDER is a membership-based organisation that relies on community engagement and collective scholarly contributions, this reviewing work is voluntary and not remunerated. Nevertheless, your work as jury members will be properly credited on the website of ATGENDER, and a Certificate of Expert Evaluation will be conferred to you at the end of the process.
If you are interested in serving on the jury, please complete the following form: https://forms.gle/4sA9J6eziWYWtF2E8 by 30 April 2026
IMPORTANT NOTES:
– Please be informed that jury members will be asked to review the dissertations based on their expertise. If this expertise does not match the dissertations submitted for the prize, and if you express your consent in the form, we will retain your expression of interest and call upon you to serve as a jury member in the future.
– Detailed instructions on how invited jury members are expected to undertake the review process will be shared as soon as the selection process is completed. Invited jury members will be asked to review no more than four dissertations.
– The student’s, thereby the jury member’s, host department does not need to be a Gender Studies department; however, their work must engage with issues central to gender, feminist, queer, and trans* feminism and studies within the fields of Social ko Sciences and Humanities. Such work may also originate from related areas, including Cultural Studies, Communication Studies, Arts, Sociology, Anthropology, or other cognate disciplines. We therefore welcome scholars from a wide range of disciplines within the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
– If a jury member is not yet part of ATGENDER, a one-year membership will be provided in recognition of their contribution. Jury members are, however, encouraged to join ATGENDER either through institutional affiliation or as individual members. Those who wish to further support ATGENDER are warmly invited to do so by paying the membership fee. For more information about membership, please see here.
